Funded by NASA, LOXSAT is a technology demonstration satellite that will test a series of cryogenic fluid management technologies in space, including zero-loss storage and transfer and cryogenic pressure control. Scheduled for launch later this year from Mahia, New Zealand, LOXSAT will be stationed in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) for a total of 9 months. Upon proving these technologies in microgravity, LOXSAT will make way for Cryo-Dock™, a fully commercial cryogenic propellant depot in space.
